Interactive Multimedia 

In this team project, I worked with a team to create an e-learning lesson to create a learning piece centered around Just-in-Time learning (JIT) is an on-demand educational and training methodology. Our digital artifact is a practical application of JIT principles where rather than front-loading the learner with all necessary material. Inside of the digital artifact, you will find modularized learning areas that cover different critical medical devices in a hospital setting. Rather than giving you all the information upfront, you will have a chance to "explore" different rooms and learn through your own exploration. 

Interactive Multimedia 

In this team project, I worked with a team to create an e-learning lesson on the topic of "Newton's First Law of Motion".  In this project, my role was the content about inertia and mass as well as contributing to the applications of our project to the readings throughout the course. The paper describes the concepts covered on the topic. This link is no longer active. Additonally, there is a link to a short course created in Storyline on atoms.

Game Design

In this project, working with a group I helped design an educational game. The game, Arithmethink is created with the intent of making learning basic mathematical skills more attainable and desirable. Often throughout the United States, math is viewed in a negative light. Our game aims to make mathematics fun, while also enhancing player’s skills in competitive online settings as well as incorporating single player options for practice and repetition. The game is designed to provide a fun and interesting way for two to six players aged ten and over to learn and practice addition, multiplication, the fundamental theorem of arithmetic, factorization, the greatest common multiplier, and the least common divisor. The game aims to make mathematics fun, while also enhancing player’s skills in competitive online settings as well as incorporating single player options for practice and repetition. The main points outside of the original design that I focused on were motivation and learning theory.

Issues in Digital Learning

The project was delivered via screencast- created through adobe captivate. The project was related to how augmented reality is being used in business and education. The project included a pre-assessment and post-assessment along with an evaluation of the lesson and assessment.

Research Development Paper

This research paper explores Elearning in workplace environments. Elearning has taken off in the education world and continues to grow across many disciplines. One main area has been the use of Elearning in companies and corporations. In recent years there have been numerous studies on the growth and effectiveness of these programs. While the types of companies being assessed varied there were consistent themes across all of the research. The use of Elearning in corporations is a vital tool for the growth and development of the employees.  The main factors highlighted in regards to Elearning in corporations are the technology factors that can limit and enhance Elearning, the integration of various delivery methods, and the use of effective assessment within the applications.

ROI Case Study

A case study of a Return On Investment (ROI) done on United Petroleum International (UPI) provided a very good example of a program and an ROI calculation. The study used explained in detail each step in this process going from a needs assessment to the development of a comprehensive ROI.

IDT Research Prospectus

A research prospectus designed to study a problem related to materials, processes, systems, innovation, training, or education of an IDT-related issue. The IDT focus for this prospectus was Virtual Reality in training and development. The prospectus is designed to investigate the current usage of virtual reality in Fortune 500 companies and the impact it has had on training and development.
